On 15 October 2023, in Pwintbyu town (Pwintbyu township, Minbu district, Magway region), the People's Defense Force - Minbu District battalion - 4 attacked the EPC office with four rounds of 40 mm heavy weapons and attacked the EPC office with remote controlled bombs simultaneously at 8:20 am, injuring 4 staff. The group claimed that they attacked the EPC for double charging meter bills and attacked the revenue department for arresting and charging a MP for bomb explosion at the department in 2022. Eleven Media Group reported that a 36-year-old woman and her son a 4-year-old child were injured due to the remote explosion by the PDF.
