On 16 October 2023, in Maw Tone (West) village (Tanintharyi township, Myeik district, Tanintharyi region), artillery shells fired by the Myanmar military (battalion 306) stationed in Maw Tone village landed in betel nut farms at around 7 pm, damaging some betel nut trees. Casualties unknown.
