A North London street was evacuated after a 'gun was fired' and the police found grenade's in a man's house. Police were called to the Hendon road after reports that a gun had been fired last night (Tuesday, October 17).
The incident took place on Brent Street, where a crime scene remains in place. The police were called to the scene shortly after 9pm and evacuated the road on their arrival.
A gun was found and has been taken away for forensic testing. Police officers, including armed officers, attended and arrested a man at a nearby address on suspicion of possession of a firearm.When searching the property the Met officers also found a cache of grenades. After assessing these it is clear they are not usable.
A spokesperson for the Met told MyLondon: "Cordons were put in place and a small number of surrounding properties were evacuated as a precaution while this work was carried out. These cordons have now been lifted and we thank residents for their patience during this time.
