On 9 October 2023, in Hseni township (Lashio district, Shan-North state), the Myanmar military fired artillery rounds into Kawng Hkio village at around 10 am, injuring a pregnant woman from Kun Kauk village who was taking shelter with her family. She was taken to Lashio Township General Hospital for treatment. On the same day, the military also fired artillery rounds toward Pan Kan village twice.
