SAA event in Islamabad Capital Territory, Golra area, Pakistan on Tue 17th October 2023

A patrolling team of the Islamabad Capital Territory Police came under gunfire from unidentified assailants on October 14 in Sector E-12, reports The Express Tribune. However, no one was harmed during the assault. According to a Police spokesperson, the incident happened within the jurisdiction of the Golra Police Station when the team was conducting routine patrol. During the patrolling, when the patrolling team signalled a suspicious vehicle to stop, the vehicle's occupants, believed to be three armed individuals, opened fire on the Police personnel and fled the scene. No Police personnel were harmed in the incident. However, during the pursuit of the fleeing suspects, one of them sustained injuries from Police gunfire and was subsequently arrested. Police recovered weapons and ammunition from the possession of the arrested suspect.
