IED event in Jharkhand, Tiliyabeda in Chaibasa town in West Singhbhum District area, India on Sat 14th October 2023

An encounter between security personnel and cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) took place following an Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) blast triggered by the Maoists in an adjacent forest between Bamiaburu and Tiliyabeda villages under Goilkera Police Station limits in Chaibasa town in West Singhbhum District of Jharkhand on October 13, reports The Week. The Maoists opened fire at security personnel, forcing them to retaliate. However, there was no report of any casualties in the IED blast or exchange of fire between the Maoists and Security Forces (SFs), West Singhbhum Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashutosh Shekhar said, adding that the SF personnel had recovered three IEDs during the anti-Maoist operation a day before. One spike hole was also detected.
