On 20 September 2023, a bomb planted by Malay Muslim separatists went off by the roadside in Ku Bae Sa Lo village, Kaluwo, Mueang Narathiwat (Narathiwat), targeting village defense volunteers as two volunteers were riding motorcycles back from patrolling the teacher security route. Two of them were injured. According to the investigations, the bomb was a radio-controlled IED hidden in a gas tank, weighing about 25 kilograms.
