On 22 September 2023, presumed US forces (described as international forces) conducted an airstrike against Al Shabaab in Buur Caddey village (Rab Dhuure, Bakool). At least eleven people were killed. Al Shabaab claimed eight civilians were killed in the airstrike by US forces.
