On 16 September 2023, in Myin Thar village (Gangaw township, Gangaw district, Magway region), the Myanmar military and Pyu Saw Htee members stationed in Myauk Khin Yan village fired 120 mm artilleries around 7 pm. The artillery shells fell into the village and a 22-year-old couple who fled from Taung Khin Yan village and took refuge in Myin Thar village were killed. Another 69-year-old woman who was injured in the chest and thigh died on 18 September while receiving treatment. A 3-year-old and 4-year-old child, an 11-year-old girl, a 33-year-old and 73-year-old woman, a 37-year-old and a 42-year-old man were injured. They were sent to an interim public hospital for treatment.
