On 19 September 2023, in Lashio town (Lashio township, Shan-North state), a bomb that was planted inside a motorcycle exploded in front of the CS Hotel in No.2 ward at around 5:30 pm. A 20-year-old passer-by man from Nawng Mun village was killed, and three other men and two women including a hotel staff sustained injuries. Some vehicles were also damaged. No group claimed responsibility for the incident.
