On 20 September 2023, in Nyaung Kone (Upper) village (Mogoke township, Pyinoolwin district, Mandalay region), a five-year-old boy was killed and his father was injured by an artillery shell fired by the Myanmar military based in Mogoke town. On the same day, a man and a woman in their 40s were killed by artillery shells fired by the Myanmar military.
