On September 18, an armed operative of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), identified as Boyram Lian Bom, was injured in an exchange of fire with an Army patrol unit in Ruma Upazila (Sub-District) of Bandarban (Chittagong Division), reports Dhaka Tribune. Local sources revealed that armed KNF operatives arrived at Ruma Bazar around 11:30am [BST] with the intent to extort money from local traders. They encountered an army patrol team, and an exchange of fire ensued between the KNF members and the army personnel, resulting in the injury of one KNF operative."
