On 12 September 2023, two people were killed and four others were injured after an unexploded ordinance belonging to an unknown group detonated in a grazing field near Laascaanood town (Laas Caanood, Sool). The incident followed an artillery exchange between the Somaliland forces and the SSC militia (coded separately).
