On 14 September 2023, in Thein Za Yat town (Kyaikto township, Thaton district, Mon state), local resistance forces attacked the police station with a total of seven 40 mm artillery rounds at around 5 pm. Three of the rounds landed in the rubber field in front of the police station and four of the rounds landed outside of the fence behind the police station. Casualties unknown.
