On 9 September 2023, in Dawthponeyan town (Momauk township, Bhamo district, Kachin state), the Myanmar military from the Hang Gai Bum and Hpun Pyen Bum military outposts fired artillery shells continuously around 5 am. Local claimed that they were firing artillery shells toward the locations where they assumed that the KIA troops stationed and to provide security for their military vehicles. There were around 30 military vehicles to transport provisions and to provide security. Casualties unknown.
