On 9 September 2023, in Dawthponeyan town (Momauk township, Bhamo district, Kachin state), artillery shells fired by the military IB-142 during a clash with the KIA near Hka Lar Yang village at around 7:30 pm (coded separately) landed in the town and injured a middle school teacher and a primary school teacher sustained injuries.
