On 12 September 2023, in Santiago de Cali - Comuna 1 (Valle del Cauca), two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle threw an artisanal explosive at a police station in the Patio Bonito sector. The explosive detonated causing material damage to the station. Authorities believe that the attack could have involved a man who in 2007 threw a similar explosive against a police station over security operations that were carried out in the area. One suspect was arrested. There were no casualties.
