On 10 September 2023, an Azerbaijani serviceman was hit by an anti-personnel mine, presumably planted by Artsakh forces, in the Askeran (Aghdam) region (coded to Aghdam), as a result of which he sustained injuries. The Azerbaijani side stated that Artsakh forces snuck into the territory of Azerbaijan to plant new mines, however, the Ministry of Defense of Artsakh refuted this report.
