IED event in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Swat area, Pakistan on Fri 8th September 2023

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on September 8 killed a ‘wanted’ militant, Naik Muhammad alias Niko, during an intelligence based operation (IBO) in Swat District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reports The Khorasan Diary. The militant was involved in the target killing of two Police constables in June, 2023, at People's Chowk in Mingora town of Swat.|Police on September 8 repulsed a militant attack on Daraban Police Station in Dera Ismail Khan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, forcing the attackers to flee, reports The Khorasan Diary. “Intense exchange of firing between police and attackers continued for half an hour. During the attack, the terrorists used heavy weapons including rocket launchers. It should be noted that this is the second attack on the same police station this week, and both were repulsed successfully by the Police,” Police statement said.|The Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP), in a statement on September 8, claimed the responsibility the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack in Dama Dola Khor area of Bajaur District on September 7, in which one person was and another one injured, reports The Khorasan Diary.
