The main point of transit for travellers and goods between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Torkham border crossing in Khyber District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was closed on September 6 as Security Forces (SFs) from both countries exchanged fire, reports The Express Tribune. Local residents said that the sound of gunfire by the Torkham crossing and people around the border area near the Khyber Pass had fled once the firing started. SF officials from the area, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that Taliban and Pakistan SF had exchanged fire but there had not yet been any casualties.
