The Jharkhand Police arrested Sushil Oraon, a ‘commander’ of the Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP), a splinter group of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), carrying a reward of INR 500, 000, from a forest in Latehar district of Jharkhand on September 5, reports samacharnama.com. Many modern weapons have also been seized from him. Oraon's position is ‘second in command’ in the outfit, JJMP, after Pappu Lohra, the ‘supremo’ of the outfit, and he takes all the decisions of the outfit. More than one and a half dozen cases are registered against Oraon in Latehar, Palamu, and Garhwa Districts. He has executed many incidents, including murder, ‘levy’ (extortion money) recovery, and arson.
