On 5 September 2023, SAF targeted two RSF check points with artillery shelling and airstrikes in Al Salhin neighborhood in Ombada (Um Bada, Khartoum). At least 19 civilians were killed and dozens were wounded with some sources mentioning 32 were killed. Hundreds of civilians were displaced.
