On 3 September 2023, in Nga Htway Soke village (Kyaukkyi township, Taungoo district, Bago-East region), the military conducted airstrikes on villages under the control of KNLA bridgade-3 during the battle with the KNLA (coded separately) and some of the air bombs landed in the village, killing a 12-year-old and injuring 6 other locals. Three houses were also destroyed. The military also fired 30 artillery rounds which landed near a pagoda in the village.
