On 5 September 2023, between Peinzalok town and Taw Wi village (coded as Peinzalok) (Nyaunglebin township, Bago district, Bago-East region), an unidentified armed group mined and destroyed a section of railroad between the Peinzalok station and Taw Wi station on the No.6 Yangon - Mandalay Express Rail. There were no casualties.
