On 5 September 2023, in Mong Yu village (Kutkai township, Muse district, Shan-North state), the military (IB-123) stationed on the Nam Khaing Bridge fired 81 mm artillery rounds indiscriminately at around 10 pm and some of the rounds landed in the village, hitting four pigs and destroying at least 12 houses. Casualties unknown.
