On August 29, two village volunteers (civilians) identified as Laibungjam Inao and Jangminlen Gangte were killed and eight others were injured in gun battles with Kuki militantsat the Naransena Maning Leikai in Bishnupur District of Manipur, reports The Sangai Express.|An official statement from Manipur Police stated that on August 28, four pistols and one .22 revolver (with six rounds) were recovered in a joint operation launched by the Assam Rifles and Manipur Police from Pangei Nepali Basti foothill of Marjing hill range in Imphal East District of Manipur, reports Northeast Now.
