On 23 August 2023, an IED planted by Al Shabaab detonated, targeting government security forces (SNA) convoy passing in the vicinity of Oswein village (Ceel Dheer, Galgaduud). One soldier was killed and six others were injured. Al Shabaab claimed responsibility.
