On 31 August 2023, a motorcycle-born TTP-Hafiz Gul Bahadur faction militant from the Sufyan Karawan group conducted a suicide VBIED attack against a military convoy at Janikhel area (Bannu district, KP). Ten persons including nine soldiers and the bomber were killed and five other soldiers were left injured in the explosion. Fatalities coded as 10.
