On 27 August 2023, the air component of Operation Delta Safe conducted airstrikes targeted at some illegal oil refining sites at Cawthorne channels, Bille, Omoma and Gogokori in Degema LGA (Rivers) and in Akukutoru LGA [coded separately]. The reservoirs that were sighted at the locations were destroyed.
