On 1 September 2023, in Nam Hpat Kar (Ho Pong + Pang Sa Lorp) village (Kutkai township, Muse district, Shan-North state), the Myanmar military (IB-123) fired artillery rounds indiscriminately into the village at around 8 am without an armed clash occurring. Artillery shells landed on a road in No.1 Zi Dabang Lawk ward, killing a man and injuring a wife. Another 50-year-old man and a woman also sustained injuries. Shwe Phee Myay News Agency and Khit Thit Media reported that the injured man died on the way to hosptial. Fatalities coded as 2 for the most up-to-date estimates.
