On 30 August 2023, in Momauk township (Bhamo district, Kachin state), the military fired artillery rounds at the surrounding villages while advancing to Laiza town and one of the rounds hit and killed the 40-year-old man, who was one of the 10 villagers that the Myanmar military abducted from Au Htan Yang village (coded separately).
