On 29 August 2023, in Pyin Yae Gyi village (Nyaunglebin township, Bago district, Bago-East region), the Myanmar military IB-264 and LIB-439 from Peinzalok town fired 120 mm artillery shells three times at 11:15 am, 12:02 pm and 1:25 pm, killing a 7-years-old girl and a 44-years-old woman. Four civilians including 27-years-old and 45-years-old men were injured. Five houses in the village were also destroyed. DVB and Karen Information Center News reported that this event happened on 29 August and Myanmar Now reported this happened on 28 August. Event date was coded based on DBV and Karen Information Center News.
