On 29 August 2023, near Nam Tein village (Hpakant township, Mohnyin district, Kachin state), the KIA (B-6) attacked about 100 military soldiers with mines five times in the morning. Kachin News Group reported that 6 military soldiers were killed and 10 other military soldiers were injured. DVB reported that around five military soldiers were killed and around ten military soldiers were injured. Fatalities coded as 5, using the lowest estimate.
