On 28 August 2023, in Zee Hpyu Kyin village (Tigyaing township, Katha district, Sagaing region), the combined troops of the Myanmar military column advancing in the township entered the village and fired heavy and small weapons. A 60-years-old man who fled from the military column was killed by heavy weapon injuries at the chest, legs and arms.
