On 23 August 2023, in Katha town (Katha township, Katha district, Sagaing region), unidentified local defense forces attacked No.2 police station with two bombs attached to a drone at around 6:30 am. The bombs landed on the police dormitory, injuring three police officers. One of the police lost his hand.
