On 14 August 2023, Houthi forces shelled with heavy weapons houses belonging to Al ash Sharjabi tribe in Abs village in Ash Sharyah district (Al Bayda). Houses were damaged but there were no fatalities or injuries. The source claimed that Houthi forces had been besieging the village for two days while they had previously targeted Al ash Sharjabi tribe after siding with Al Tarbus tribe in a conflict opposing the two.
