On 17 August 2023, in Shwebo town of Shwebo township (Shwebo district, Sagaing region), joint forces of PDF - Shwebo District Battalion-23 and Naung Yoe Army (Unit-1) carried out a grenade attack against Myanmar military soldiers standing at the door of Shwebo Agricultural Department Office at around 1 pm. The grenade explosion killed two soldiers and injured five others.
