On 16 August 2023, near Kan Taw village of Pakokku township (Pakokku district, Magway region), the People's Defense Force - Pakokku (Unit-1) carried out an attack using five combined mines and a cluster mine against about 60 Myanmar military troops and Pyu Saw Htee advancing from Nyaung Gyit Pin village at around 8 am. 12 military soldiers died in the attack. Democratic Voice of Burma reported that four military soldiers died and eleven others were injured. Fatalities coded as 4 using the lowest estimate.
