On 27 August 2023, an explosion took place at an illegal explosives factory in Mochpole village (North 24 Parganas district, WB). Nine persons were killed and dozen others were left injured in the explosion. Over 50 houses were a left damaged due to the explosion. An ISF member claimed that the owner of the factory was a TMC member however this was not reported by other sources.
