On 8 August 2023, a bomb went off by the roadside in Bang Than village, Bang Khao, Nong Chik (Pattani). The officials believed that the bomb was planted by Malay Muslim separatists who targeted rangers while patrolling the route but the explosion occurred before the rangers reached the area. There were no injuries or fatalities.
