On 19 August 2023, in the rural area of Argelia municipality (Cauca), three soldiers were injured after stepping on landmines planted by an unidentified armed group in Los Pinos vereda when they were carrying out de-mining activities. The officers were taken to a hospital for treatment. There were no fatalities.
