On 11 August 2023, in Hpapun town (Hpapun township, Hpapun district, Kayin state), an unknown People's Defense Force carried out mine attacks on the Township Court, Audit Office, Customs Office, Customs Office Staff House, and the Staff Housing of the General Administration Department simultaneously around 11 pm. There were no casualties as the buildings were vacant and the civil servants left the town in the previous months.
