On 11 August 2023, in Peit Thu Gyi village (Wetlet township, Shwebo district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military column of around 100 soldiers fired heavy weapons during the raid around 1 pm. Seven locals, 40-years-old man and woman, 50-years-old woman, 70-years-old man and three 10-years-old children fleeing the military raid were injured.
