On 6 August 2023, in Sa Kyin village of Madaya township (Pyinoolwin district, Mandalay region), about 80 Myanmar military troops with seven military trucks fired seven rounds of heavy artillery shells and raided the village at around 4 am. The military raided the village after receiving a video of Taw Gyi Mway Pyaw: King Viper (an anti-coup armed group) members buying groceries in the village. Local civilians from ten surrounding villages fled homes in fear of the military's shelling. There were no casualties.
