On 5 August 2023, the military fired artillery rounds along the boundary of Barangays Nagsaha, Villegas, Magsaysay and Imelda in Guihulngan City (Negros Oriental, Central Visayas). Human rights group Karapatan said that the artillery shelling hit a forested area along the boundary, and affected residents could not inspect their crops and livestock due to fear of another attack. There were no casualties.
