On 5 August 2023, in Yae Le village of Shwegu township (Bhamo district, Kachin state), the Myanmar military troops traveling on nine military's vessels approaching the village randomly fired about 40 to 50 rounds of heavy weapons toward the village. The shelling injured a 40-year-old woman.
