A new explosion occurred in Tlajomulco, Jalisco, on Monday morning, July 31, according to the Jalisco government. The detonation occurred three weeks after an attack on police officers with explosive devices on Tuesday, July 11 in the same locality, which left six dead and 14 wounded. The Jalisco Security Secretariat indicated that the explosion occurred at 5:30 a.m. on Monday in the Flavio Ramos and Abasolo area, in the same locality where the July 11 attack took place. Jalisco's specialized group in deactivation of explosive devices went to the site after neighbors called to report the explosion, which was confirmed after locating a crater. The authorities carried out a thorough check to avoid further damage to the site and secured the place. No injuries were reported after the detonation.
