The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on August 2 arrested three people hailing from West Bengal (WB), identified as Shukra Ali, Shaif Nawaz, and Aman Malik, in Rajkot District in Gujarat for their alleged links with Al Qaeda, reports Hindustan Times. Officers said that a country-made semi-automatic pistol, 10 cartridges and five mobile phones were recovered from the three men, with “radical literature” stored in the cell phones. "For over a year, Aman Malik maintained contact with foreign handlers Abu Talha and Fursan through social media, and joined Al Qaeda Tanzim (sect). He connected with a person namely Muzamil via Telegram, who assisted in obtaining a semi-automatic pistol and encouraged him to join jihad. Aman then influenced his acquaintances Abdul Sukur Ali and Saif Nawaz to join Al Qaeda, facilitating their entry," officials stated.
