An encounter took place between Security Forces (SFs) and cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in the forests near Bhalu Diggi village at Kulhari Ghat in Gariyaband District of Chhattisgarh on August 1, reports etvbharat.com. SFs comprising the Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel launched a raid on a Maoist camp. Seeing the SFs, the Maoists opened fire, leading to an exchange of fire between the SFs and Maoists. After which, seeing the SFs dominating, the Maoists ran away, leaving the camp. During the search of the area, some essential materials belonging to the Maoists were seized by the Police from the Maoist camp.
