A group of 22 Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), including seven women cadres, whose identities are yet to be ascertained, have surrendered in the Sukma District of Chhattisgarh on August 4, reports The Times of India. The surrendered Maoists were known to be active in the Chintagufa and Bheji Police Station areas within the Sukma District. The Police officials said the Maoists decided to surrender in view of the Chhattisgarh government’s “rehabilitation policy” and the Sukma district police’s 'Puna Narkom Abhiyan' (come back home campaign) which aims to raise awareness among the population residing in Maoist-affected regions about various state government policies. The campaign extends to providing essential services such as healthcare, education, and employment opportunities, all of which contribute to the state government's 'Naxalism Eradication Policy'.|A Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) couple, identified as Muchaki Bhima and his wife Muchaki Galle, carrying INR 100,000 reward on heads, surrendered before the Security Forces (SFs) in Sukma District of Chhattisgarh on August 4, reports The Print.
